About Sarcoma Awareness Month

Sarcomas are rare cancers of the bones and soft tissues. There are more than 50 different types of sarcomas.

According to the American Cancer Society about 13,190 new soft tissue sarcomas and 3,910 new cases of primary bone cancer will be diagnosed this year. Due to the rarity of these sarcomas, most physicians are unfamiliar with this entity and therefore, evaluation by a specialist with training and expertise is paramount.

The Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MSTS) is the leading national organization of Orthopaedic Oncologists who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of these rare tumors. We are experts in safely removing these cancers as well as providing reconstructions to main the best possible function and quality of life.

Come Join the MSTS during July to increase awareness of this rare cancer such that proper treatment is provided We encourage you to donate to the MSTS (Donate to MSTS) and SarcomaStrong (https://sarcomastrong.com/resources/) as we work to improve our patient’s outcomes.
