MSTS and Dr. Kurt Weiss, Chair of the Research Committee would like to announce and congratulate the novel Sarcoma Strong Grant awardees of 2023.
The Sarcoma Strong Research Grant ($50,000) was awarded to:
Dr. Krista Goulding at Mayo Clinic in Arizona for her application titled: Pre-Operative ERAS (Enhanced Recovery after Surgery): Feasibility of Implementing Individualized Prehabilitation for People Scheduled for Lower Limb Soft-Tissue Sarcoma Surgery.
The Sarcoma Strong Mentored Research Award ($25,000) was awarded to two individuals:
1. Dr. Anthony Bozzo at Memorial Sloan Kettering Institute for Cancer Resarch entitled: Development of a Multi-Input Convolutional Neural Network to Predict Outcomes in Soft Tissue Sarcoma. Dr. Bozzo will be mentored by Dr. John Healey.
2. Dr. Josh Lawrence at Vanderbilt University Medical Center entitled: Assessing the Utility of MRI Radiomics and Machine Learning in the Diagnosis of Musculoskeletal Soft Tissue Malignancies. Dr. Lawrence will be mentored by Dr. David Smith.
