Benign Musculoskeletal Tumor Research Award - DEADLINE September 22, 2025
The MSTS, in partnership with the OREF, will provide a $25,000 one-year grant for innovative research in benign musculoskeletal tumors (BMT). 

Eligibility: One member of the study team must be an MSTS member in good standing at an institution with an appropriate research infrastructure. Recipients of NIH R01 or equivalent federal grants, K- grants, and prior OREF grants are eligible to apply.

Bone Metastasis Research Award - DEADLINE September 22, 2025
The MSTS, in partnership with the OREF, will provide a $25,000 one-year grant for innovative research in metastatic bone disease (MBD).

Eligibility: One member of the study team must be an MSTS member in good standing at an institution with an appropriate research infrastructure. Recipients of NIH R01 or equivalent federal grants, K- grants, and prior OREF grants are eligible to apply.

MSTS/Sarcoma Strong Inc. Research Award - OPENING SOON

Sarcoma Strong Inc. will support the MSTS to provide $50,000 one-year grants for impactful sarcoma research.

Eligibility: The Principal Investigator (PI) must be an MSTS member at an institution with an appropriate research infrastructure. Recipients of prior MSTS Grants or simultaneous major NIH, DOD, NSF, or equivalent funding will not be eligible.

MSTS/Sarcoma Strong Inc. Mentored Research Award - OPENING SOON

Sarcoma Strong Inc. will support the MSTS to provide $25,000 one-year grants for developing research under the direction of an experienced mentor in sarcoma research.

Eligibility: Applicants should be MSTS Members within their first 6 years of faculty appointment. Mentors need not be MSTS members but should have an independent sarcoma research program and mentoring experience. Applicants should articulate concrete plans for the development of grant-writing skills and should state how the Mentored Research Award will generate preliminary data for future applications. It is important to identify at least two NIH R01-funded investigators who will provide research coaching within or outside the institution.
