MSTS Survey Request Process

MSTS has approved a new process for survey requests.  This process, effective as of September 16, 2026, is for all requests that are made for surveys to be distributed to MSTS members.

Survey Request Requirements

  • Survey requests must be submitted via the MSTS Survey Submission Form 
  • At least one survey author is required to be a member of MSTS in good standing
  • Participation in MSTS-approved study confers authorship according to ICMJE criteria
    • PI is required to follow ICMJE criteria and must update the Membership Committee on status or manuscript completion. 

How Surveys Are Selected

  • All survey requests received will be reviewed and scored annually (August) by the MSTS Membership Committee and distributed in September
  • The Committee may select high-impact surveys to be distributed at the MSTS Annual Meeting 
  • The Committee can consider time-sensitive surveys to be distributed/performed on more urgent basis 
  • Membership Committee scoring rubric will include:
    • Clarity of Objectives
    • Methodology
    • Innovation
    • Potential for Impact
    • Potential for Future Studies

MSTS Survey Submission
The Survey Submission Form is for those interested in submission of survey projects to be approved and distributed by MSTS with the intention to enhance musculoskeletal oncology research. Each study proposal will be scored by the MSTS Membership Committee. High-scoring proposal(s) will be selected as an MSTS-approved survey and distributed.
